Windows update service checked as unhealthy when set to manual

Hi Christian,

I am a big fan of the CLA tool but I have noticed a slight issue with the client health check which indicated a 2008 server was unhealthy for the client because wuauserv was set to manual start. That would have been valid for 2003 OS or XP clients but for Windows 7 & 2008 it appears that manual can be a valid setting also as it starts on demand. I have servers that have the setting as manual that clearly are applying updates when they reach their maintenance  windows via SCCM client policy trigger.

Not a huge deal but it may get confusing for people.

Cheers,

Iain

Hi,

Good point. I'll try to have a look at this and perhaps do some corrections in next release.

Btw, I support running the tool on server, but I don't support running the remote actions against servers. I simply have not tested the actions on remote servers and I have never had the intention to start supporting servers as clients.
